TVGA is completing an update to the Town of Wilton town-wide Traffic Study the Town Wide Traffic Study  for the 2010-2020 planning period.  The town has established, through its Comprehensive Plan process, a vision for future development within the Town of Wilton. The traffic planning study update will to identify potential development areas based on the established land use vision for the town, formulate a plan for transportation improvements on local roadways to address traffic impacts, develop construction cost estimates and update traffic mitigation fees based on land use associated with the permitting process of proposed development. The Townwide traffic study forecasts traffic needs and will make recommendations for improvements to be completed in the 2010-2020 timeframe.

For this project TVGA will collect traffic data, inventory existing land use and roadway conditions, forecast future land uses, estimate future traffic flows, analyze future traffic conditions and develop alternative solutions. The study will develop a traffic mitigation fee schedule that the Town will use to assess new development for the funding of the recommended traffic improvements. A Capital Improvement Plan will be established to prioritize improvements and match plan expenditures with anticipated revenues.
