WELLSVILLE SEWER INTERCEPTOR
Wellsville, NY

KEY PROJECT COMPONENTS:
• Stormwater Management
• Survey Coordination
• Storm System Design and Analysis
• Preliminary and Final Design
• Erosion and Sediment Control

Several village streets, located on the side of a steep hill on the outskirts of the Village, have experienced drainage problems due to large amounts of runoff draining from the hill.  The drainage shed on top of the hill produces large amounts of runoff, and high velocities, which damage roads and personal properties.  TVGA was retained to design a system to intercept runoff high on the hill, and convey it safely down the hill.

TVGA’s scope of services included survey coordination, planning, alternative design analyses, and design of a storm sewer interceptor.  The project was initiated with a topographic survey that covered a swath along an estimated flow alignment for the proposed storm sewer interceptor.  Careful planning and field assessments were made to best estimate the proposed interceptor alignment.  TVGA then analyzed several alternative interceptor types, both with detention and without detention, to arrive at an optimum design for the Village.  Once an optimum design was achieved, TVGA prepared plans and details for use by the Village in constructing the interceptor.
