KEY PROJECT COMPONENTS: • Hydraulic and Hydrologic Study • Hydraulic Analyses • Cost Estimates • Priority Analysis
TVGA was contracted by the Village to perform a hydrologic and hydraulic study at the five critical culvert sites, complete with recommendations for a replacement program based on a priority analysis.
For each of the culvert sites, drainage sheds were defined and hydrologic properties assigned to determine a design discharge. The existing capacity of each culvert was analyzed and compared to the design discharge to identify conveyance deficiencies. Structural deficiencies of the culvert and surrounding stream bed/banks were investigated and reported.
Based on the design discharge, and accounting for constraints of the surrounding topography, hydraulic analyses were performed to optimize a culvert design at each site. A cost estimate was prepared for each site. A priority analysis was also performed to develop a phased replacement program for the Village.
