The Saratoga Lake Sanitary System consists of nine (9) wastewater lift stations, approximately 15 miles of forcemains, and several miles of gravity sewer mains encircling Saratoga Lake. The system travels through the City of Saratoga Springs and the Towns of Saratoga, Stillwater and Malta in Saratoga County, New York. The lift stations and associated forcemains and sewers are approaching 30 years old and are in need of upgrade and/or replacement. The Saratoga County Sewer District, the owner and operator of the system required a multi-faceted project which entailed an assessment of the condition of each of the system components, an evaluation of the projected 20 year ?ows to each of the system components, hydraulic analysis to determine the recommended pump and pipe sizing upgrades, an evaluation of the permitting and approval process to implement the recommended upgrades, completion of cost estimates for implementation, and preparation of schematic plans for system upgrade. |
