The Village of Springville conducted a comprehensive traffic study of the Village along Route 39, from Route 219 to Route 240.  The purpose of the traffic calming study was to perform a review of traffic conditions along the corridor and address concerns of the “Main Street Traffic Committee”.  The project team identified problems and needs, and developed recommendations for alternative solutions to remedy deficiencies and develop traffic calming recommendations.  Meetings were organized with the Village Board and Planning Board to develop, and later review, traffic solutions and potential improvements. Coordination with the New York State Department of Transportation was essential in obtaining input necessary to develop the schematic traffic calming plan.  Two presentations were held for the Village officials and residents in order to present the study’s findings, alternative recommendations and concept plans, and to seek public comment and input on the proposed implementation strategies.
