TVGA was retained by the Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities, Division of Solid Waste, to assist with the environmental monitoring program at the County’s active landfill in the Town of Ellery, NY.  This project involved the collection of groundwater, surface water and leachate samples from multiple facility monitoring points for laboratory analysis on a quarterly basis per 6 NYCRR Part 360 regulations.

Methods employed for sample collection were in accordance with the facility’s NYSDEC-approved Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMP) as well as current State and Federal protocols.  The scope of work for this quarterly monitoring project included evacuation of and sample collection from 51 groundwater monitoring wells utilizing dedicated down-hole pumps and/or dedicated bailers.  Completion of this program also included the collection of grab samples from six porewater, five primary/secondary leachate and 11 surface water monitoring points.
