The Town of Java retained TVGA Consultants to provide services related to improvements to the North Java Water District’s existing potable water supply source and storage system.  The existing supply system consisted of a french drain trench that collected spring water.  The spring system had dried completely during drought periods prior to the project and there was potential for surface contamination as well so the system was replaced with two new groundwater wells.  TVGA assisted the Town in procuring and coordinated the services of a well driller to test the capacity of the existing groundwater well and install two new wells.  Following testing, TVGA oversaw the testing of the production capacity and water quality of the new wells.

An Article 15 Water Supply Permit was required for the new water source and TVGA prepared the permit application and supporting documentation.  The supporting documentation included an Engineer’s Report that discussed the need for the new groundwater wells and verified that the tested capacity of the new wells would not exceed the water district demands.

TVGA performed final design for the improvements that detailed the new tank installations, the improvements to the chlorination system and the final installation of the new wells.  The project was bid publically in accordance with NYSOCR requirements, which included outreach to M/WBE firms.

TVGA also provided construction administration services throughout the project.
