TVGA proposed to construct a larger storage tank in a more central location, thereby reducing the areas affected during emergency shutdowns, increasing the pressure for the service area, and providing adequate storage for emergencies. The major components included in the proposed improvements were a 710,000-gallon prestressed concrete tank, a 400 gpm pump station, and two miles of new water main. The pipeline work included a pump station forcemain to the tank, the tank discharge to the service system and main extensions on several hilly roads. The project also included the replacement of an existing pipeline crossing of Eighteen Mile Creek.
TVGA prepared topographic mapping from aerial photography. From the mapping and field inspections, the pump station and tank sites were selected. Property surveys and legal descriptions were prepared for the Town for property acquisition. TVGA prepared a Map, Plan and Report for the increase of facilities and District extensions, and a Final Design Report for agency approvals. Public hearings were held to present the costs to the residents.
