Both programs provide low-costs or no-cost financing to communities implementing water quality projects. The DWSRF provides financing for infrastructure directly related to drinking water supply, and the CWSRF provides for projects that protect, maintain and improve water quality for all waters of New York State. The most common type of CWSRF project is the construction or upgrade of a wastewater treatment plant to prevent waterway pollution.
